ATTN: Britax owners. If our product is too short, please check to be sure your LATCH straps are in the forward facing position.

Whether flying on an airplane or traveling by train or bus, it is safest and most comfortable for your child to be in a car seat. But traveling with a young child, their seat, and your carry-on can be tricky. Not anymore. The Traveling Toddler strap allows you to attach your LATCH and top tether equipped toddler's car seat to a rolling carry-on suitcase. Simply attach the LATCH and top tether straps from the car seat to the Traveling Toddler and adjust the straps so that the car seat is held securely on the suitcase. Once adjusted, the car seat can be detached and reattached to the suitcase in seconds. Lift the handle of your carry-on bag and you have a fun new stroller.

Now there's an easy and inexpensive way to take your toddler's car seat and other gear on your trip. You do not have to buy a special seat or suitcase. As long as your suitcase handle locks in place, you can push it like a stroller. Your hands are free for check in and its simple to unhook for security. Keep your child safe and comfortable in their own seat.

The Traveling Toddler has been tested with most major car seat brands including Graco, Eddie Bauer, Cosco, Evenflo, and Britax, and a variety of carry-on suitcases and has worked with every combination. It is important that the telescoping handle of your suitcase locks in place. If not, it might not stay extended when you try to push your child in front of you, though you would still be able to pull them. If flying, make sure that your car seat is FAA approved before traveling.

The Traveling Toddler strap is made from heavyweight polypropylene webbing that will withstand 900 lbs of force. When not in use it easily slips in the pocket of your carry-on. As with any other wheeled child carrier, do not use the Traveling Toddler on stairs or escalators.

Car seat and suitcase sold separately.

 "works great" 2010-01-05

This simple little strap works great. Wish I had invented it. I'm currently ordering a second one after losing our first one mid-trip, which made the trip home much harder without it.

 "Beware!" 2010-01-04

This concept was a great idea, but I encountered slight problems when using:

Make sure that you take it for a test spin at home. The luggage that I used could not hold up to the weight of the car seat with child (23lbs) and caused the wheels to bend on the luggage. Without the child in the seat it was great. It could just be the design of the luggage that I was using as I will try a hard cased carry-on next time and see if the problem is encountered again.

 "Hated it!" 2010-01-04

We recently bought two of these to use with our Britax Marathon car seats. The seats were swinging all over the place, no matter how much we readjusted the strap. Work so-so with no kids in the car seats (thank goodness we also brought a double stroller), but basically unusable with a child in the car seat.

"It was HEAVEN with my Britax Marathon!" 2009-12-28
By Christina Spindler (Cheyenne, WY, USA)
So we had to fly with our two-year-old and it was going to require a transfer in each direction. I looked at more expensive systems, thinking they would be the only thing that would work. On a whim I decided to try the Traveling Toddler, thinking that if it didn't work when it got to the house, I wasn't out much money. Yes, it looks unimpressive when it shows up and you'll kick yourself for not thinking of it first. We used it with an American Tourister carry-on and the Britax Marathon (circa 2006). It was wonderful! Our son weighed about 30 pounds at the time and we were able to still push him through the airport while seated in the seat attached to the suitcase. It came off very easily for security and stowed away nicely when not in use. I would highly recommend anyone looking to travel purchase this!

"everyone wanted to know where i got it" 2009-12-28
By Jillian27w3 (Baltimore, MD)
with 2 of these i single-handedly took a 4 yr, 2 yr and 1 yr old on vacation. while it made that POSSIBLE, it didnt make it easy. it was fantastic for keeping them safe, and close to me and definitely minimized the things i had to carry while inside the airport. but you will have to take it apart at security and you will not be able to wheel your child up the aisle of some planes while in the seat. the security issue i was prepared for as other reviewers have mentioned that (i arranged to have relatives help me through security) but i expected to be able to keep them in these and then lift them still in the carseat into the plane seat. on a larger plane, that would have worked but i ended up dismantling everything at the front of the plane with a line of people waiting behind me (as the aisle was too narrow and southwestern would not let me board early.. bitter? definitely) and needing help moving all the kids to our row. we were a sight walking around the airport and everyone wanted to know where i got the straps and how they worked. my complaints aside, i would buy it again.
