I started using the Baby Bjorn but it killed my shoulders after about an hour of wearing. Then I tried the Snugli which amounted to about the same thing and I hated that it had to be slipped over my head for wearing. Then there was the Infantino Front 2 Back which I didn't successfully use. It had so many straps and adjustments. ... I didn't fully try that out because in the meantime, I came upon the Porte Bebe, tried it out in the store and loved it immediately.



There is no strain on my shoulders and my then 5 month old seemed so comfortable in it. Now she's about 19 pounds and I can still carry her for hours with both hands free either on my back or on my chest. She's comfortable and will sleep either way. The carrier isn't very flattering when worn with baby on the back because the bottom strap digs into my not-so-large-yet-not-so-firm-belly and creates an unsightly bulge but it's comfortable nonetheless. Baby's weight rests mostly on the hips and it's so natural that I don't even notice it. The privacy hood is very useful for supporting baby's head when asleep and creates a more restful environment while still allowing her to peek out if awake. The pouch is easily accessible when carrying in the front and is quite roomy. It's about an 8 inch square.



I have the black, all cotton version. The fabric breathes and is very soft though it attracts lint very easily. It seems very well made though the manufacturer doesn't recommend washing it often and drying it all the way through.



Though it's a bit pricey, it's really worth every penny and will save your shoulders and back! I use it every day and I can tell that my baby absolutely loves being in it.

Our son is ten months old and it took a few rides in the carrier to get used to it, but now he gets excited when he sees me pull it out and put it on.



It is great at putting the weight on my hips and not my back...baby weighes in at 21.5 lbs.(which is a fifth of my weight). I wear him on the back or hip and it is wonderful. I am able to stand up straight and I can tell that I have good posture while wearing it. Having two hands to do things is great...but baby would rather be hiking in it than cooking with mommy.



Great product! So happy that I found it! I would highly recommend this to anyone for an older infant...but since I haven't tried it with a newborn, I can't say...YET!

I bought this bag to accompany the Ergo Baby Carrier, but it has been used soooo much more than just an add-on accessory.



As an accessory to the Ergo Carrier, it works perfectly. Its large velcro strap securely and snugly fits the Ergo Carrier, where it's super handy to access all your things, yet it's secure against you. It doesn't look big but adds HUGE amounts of space for your things.



As a stand-alone bag, it's equally fantastic. When you click on the shoulder strap, you have a proper purse in an extremely durable fabric that lasts & lasts. I've had mine for 3 years and it's showing no signs of wear. The shoulder strap is adjustable and long enough to go cross-ways across your body, making it safer still.



It's very roomy, though it doesn't look it, and all the pockets make it such a handy bag, both for ever-day use and for traveling. The outside zipper pocket has an inside key/phone clip. The open pocket is perfect for my phone or keys or shopping list, and the main pocket holds way more stuff than you'd think possible, including my large, long wallet. The inside zipper pocket holds private stuff. The bag is canvas, so it's sturdy yet squishable, so in addition to all the pockets/features, you can stuff it in your luggage wherever there's a small space, and it still looks great while keeping all of your things together.



My only complaint is that the large logo patch on the front is ugly; they need to be a little more understated.



Bottom line: Very well designed, this bag is tremendous value for money, certainly a must-have for the Ergo Carrier, but even stand-alone, it is fantastic.

OK, it's not like sucking on these are good for a baby or anything, but there is so much wear and tear on the Ergo straps that I would cringe every time my little guy sucked on them - pretty much every time. And there is just no way to wash the carrier every day, nor do I like to dry it. With two pairs of the sucking pads I can wash one pair every other day and feel confident about my baby putting his mouth on them.

I try to take them off each time I take off the carrier and keep them in the front pouch, that way they stay clean while the ergo is being stored.

I've been using the Ergo with my son since he was just a few weeks old and we both love it. Once he turned around 4 months old and started putting everything he could get into his mouth in his mouth I got these sucking pads. Now he's 5 months old and we still love the ergo -- I like the ease and comfort and my son likes to eat it. The sucking pads are great because I can let him suck and nibble away while he looks around at the passing scenery and then I just take off teh sucking pads and throw them in the washing machine when we get home. That way we're both happy.
