i didn't really know what the purpose of the sucking pad, but as soon as i got the Ergo carrier, i noticed that i needed this. it keeps clean for both Ergo and my babyWorth the money!

OK, it's not like sucking on these are good for a baby or anything, but there is so much wear and tear on the Ergo straps that I would cringe every time my little guy sucked on them - pretty much every time. And there is just no way to wash the carrier every day, nor do I like to dry it. With two pairs of the sucking pads I can wash one pair every other day and feel confident about my baby putting his mouth on them.
I try to take them off each time I take off the carrier and keep them in the front pouch, that way they stay clean while the ergo is being stored.

I've been using the Ergo with my son since he was just a few weeks old and we both love it. Once he turned around 4 months old and started putting everything he could get into his mouth in his mouth I got these sucking pads. Now he's 5 months old and we still love the ergo -- I like the ease and comfort and my son likes to eat it. The sucking pads are great because I can let him suck and nibble away while he looks around at the passing scenery and then I just take off teh sucking pads and throw them in the washing machine when we get home. That way we're both happy.
