 "Great purchase" 2010-05-28
By hot mama (California)
This is such a lightweight carseat and not bulky. I LOVE the pattern, it's super cute. My only dis-like is the actual material is kinda rough, so I used a softer insert/head rest. Otherwise I am very happy with this purchase! I paid $89 on here with free shipping, which is a great deal considering some car seats are way overpriced$$

By Gentrie Borneman (HI USA)
I hated this car seat. I bought it because online it looked good and was a resonable price. The canopy was so small that the sun was constanly shinning in my babys face. I went onine to see if I could find a larger replacement and could not. The base didn't adjust high enough so my baby slumped forward. I ended up spending the extra money and buying a Graco. I'm glad I did because my 7 month old (who is on the small side) would definetly not fit into this car seat anymore.

"Perfect for my 3 year old!!!" 2010-05-13
By S. Gehres (TX)
I was looking at a lot of brands and options for an in-between transitional booster for my 3 year old. She weighs 35 lbs so I wasn't ready for a booster without a 5-point harness yet. This seat was perfect. The arms are somewhat flimsy. My 3 year old can pop them off but I don't even have them on half the time because it's not really needed. It also comes with a detachable cup holder and a separate detachable activity holder. For the price, this product is awesome! Highly recommend. Oh, I liked it so much, I bought an identical one in a different color for my husband's truck.

Nice seat for the price. The seat itself is very comfy. I like the cup holder and snack holder, but they are not as sturdy as I would have hoped. They stay in place as long as there is not too much pressure on them.

Overall, good value for the price.

"Value Alternative to Britax Marathon" 2010-02-23
By Randall Smith (Washington, IL USA)
This car seat is a large quality convertible type that is similar in size to the Britax Marathon (which I also own). That's a plus if you have the room but a minus for airline travel or want to install it in a standard sized car - especially rear facing.

The best thing going for this seat is the price for features. It is a much better value than the Marathon but if I had to choose, based on all attributes, I'd rather have another Marathon regardless of how a leading consumer magazine rated Marathon vs. the Triumph.

After using it for almost two years now, we've had two issues with the Triumph. These apparently are common complaints.

1) The front facing tether strap was 8.5 inches too short to reach the second row anchor point in our 2003 Honda Odyssey (the third row point is even further). This resulted in purchasing an Evenflo tether extension at $6.75 plus $8 for 2-3 week shipping. It does reach in another newer vehicle, as it has a different anchor point. Try it for fit in your vehicle, front facing, as soon as you get it. I've heard a rumor that if you call Evenflo in the first 90 days they may be more willing to help then if you wait. Note: I did not have this problem with Graco or Britax in the same vehicle. Seems to be an Evenflo issue.

2) The harness straps twist and get turned over frequently, almost every time.

I love the harness strap adjustment system but it does mean that you cannot remove the straps for cleaning. Some people taking our child out of the seat don't like the harness tension knob system because of the way the release lever works (it can be hard to push and hold down while loosening the harness straps). I don't mind it and I think it was easier during the time we used the seat in rear facing set-up over the ones with a strap between the child's legs.

Lastly, the LATCH harness gets tightened at funny angle which makes it hard for a proper installation.

So better than the Marathon? Definitely not unless we are talking about price alone but a very good car seat and better value.

 "Loved it so much I bought a 2nd!" 2010-02-06
By J. Heiner (Utah)
We absolutely LOVE this carseat!! This actually is our second one. We have another for my car and replaced the cheapie Cosco Scenera in my husbands car for this because he is now driving with him more and because the weight limit is so much higher on this than most other convertible seats. Like others have said, this carseat is quite large (wide) but we only have one child so this isn't a factor for us. Initially I got the first seat because of the awesome feedbacks and ratings that were equal to the costly Britax. We do have problems with the straps twisting every once in a while but it's an quick and easy fix. My son loves his seat so much that before we put this new one in the car it sat in our living room and served as his 'easy chair' for a few days because he didn't want to part with it!

 "Great Seat for Baby" 2010-02-02
By Earth Mama (Texas, USA)
We have this seat in the Lincoln color - dark grey and black - because it was available at our local BrU. So far, we love it. We brought our daughter home from the hospital in it, with her weighing just over 6 lbs. The infant head support did a sufficiently good job of supporting her neck until she was able to develop muscles on her own. This is definitely a much more advanced seat than the one I used 10 years ago for my son, the Graco Alpha Omega which was rated #1 by Consumer Reports at the time. Plan on taking some time to read the owner's manual and going through the pages with the seat in front of you. While you *could* just clip the seat into your car/truck/suv without possible problems, there are many tips and suggestions in the manual that made the process easier. Without the manual, I would have been cursing and tempted to take the seat back.

Adjusting the seat to a tiny baby facing backwards was not difficult but did take a few steps. This is not a negative in my opinion. It reassured me that everything was where it needed to be and that the fit was right, rather than a preset that you may or may not be able to make slight adjustments to. The only complaint I have about this seat is that the lever to loosen the belts is VERY tight. I have to brace myself with my knee on the seat, lift up the seat with one hand to release the pressure and then push down hard on the lever with the other hand. Again, this is not entirely bad as it is reassuring that the belts will not slip but the mechanism could be a bit easier.

So far, we have only used this seat in the infant, rear-facing position. We are very confident that it will protect our daughter should it need to do it's job. It is heavy. It is not a seat that you want to buy for daily swaps between vehicles. I do not know if it fits in the flex-use stroller bases because we just skipped the infant seat altogether and this seat has an attached, flat-bottom base.

I do like that there is a level that is easily seen from both sides of the seat.

We have already taken off the seat cover once to wash it when we sprung a leak. It was not difficult at all to remove the seat cover and then to put everything back together. I was very impressed with how intuitive it was to "reassemble" the seat.

We would definitely buy this seat again, especially since Consumer Reports listed it again on their top convertible list.

By J. Brown (Fredericksburg, VA USA)
We were going to get a Britax model but went with this model after reading the Consumer Reports review. I'm sure Britax lives up to its name but I wanted to see if I could find a comparable seat for less and I think I was successful.

The positive Consumer Reports review gave me the peace of mind I was looking for.

 "car seat" 2009-08-01
By Daisy Lynn
Good quality car seat. I found that for a younger baby, it can be difficult to tranfer from carrier to car seat and back (especially during the winter or bad whether). I ended up borrowing a car seat with it's own detachable carrier to make things easier until my son is older. In the mean time, this car seat sits in his room on the floor and he can sit in it and watch me when I need to work on activities there.

"Perfect, even with 2000 mile move" 2010-02-04
By Tyler L. Tingey (TN)
My oldest son outgrew his infant carrier when he was 5 months old. We bought this and couldn't be more pleased. He is 29 months old, we moved from Utah to Tennessee with it, move it from rear facing, so he could sleep and forward facing so he could see outside while awake. We use it at least 2-3 times and love it. When we were in Utah we had two vehicles and moved it fairly easily from our cavalier to the our Blazer. We did have to use towels in the rear-facing position to keep it level, but we had to do that with the carrier as well.

As far as the guy saying it's not safe, the reason the check place said it was unsafe was because he hated it and if you hate the carseat it is probably because you don't know how to use it, which means you probably aren't using it right, so in ends up being unsafe because of the user not the product. I found this carseat easy to use, my son even clicks the across the chest clip himself. If you really do have a hard time with your carseat then what our county suggests is to take it inside and practice with it until you are comfortable using it.

If you need a safe, comfortable and easy to use carseat to use, then this is it. In fact I'm here to buy another for our now youngest son who's 4 months old and is about 1/2 inch away from growing out of his infant carrier.

We bought this car seat to use rear-facing with my daughter when she outgrew her infant seat. It was easy enough to install in the car and she liked it so much better than her Graco Snugride. The 50 pound weight limit is a plus for large babies. We have turned the seat around to forward face now, and installation was still easy and a tight fit in our 2006 Jetta. Even though my daughter has almost outgrown the height limit on this seat, it was a great buy for us.

By Delania K. Mcfarland
My son has been using this car seat for about 9 months and i like it just fine. It seems fairly cushy and i love the ease of adjusting the straps. There are 2 reason i didn't give it 5 stars. One is my cup holder and tray don't have a tab to snap it onto the carseat. I'm not sure if they broke off or what. Secondly at times one side is a little tighter than the other, not sure how or why.

"Safe, secure, and great one buy carseat!" 2010-01-27
By Eva Roberson
This is the perfect carseat to get for your baby if you only want to buy one. We have had this seat thru both of our girls. Originally I got it because our first daughter was a very chubby baby, and this seat is quite roomy. If you secure it right (which my father actually enlightened me about lol), it is extremely secure. There is a plastic base piece that flips over for rear facing and then back again for forward facing. The seat cover comes off, so it's easy to wash, which we have done in the washing machine several times and still good as new. Loosening and tightening is simple (push a switch to be able to pull the shoulder straps out some, then tighten by pulling the strap away from the switch after baby is in to get a good fit). When our kids were newborn we did use some rolled up receiving blankets (you can never have too many of those) to cushion and support baby's head more, but that wasn't a big deal at all. And it is aircraft approved, which was great for us as well. All around very pleased with this product, and happy we found something for such a good price! :)

I don't know what the bad review person was talking about...when he was describing the car seat check people said it was unsafe. I went through a carseat check and they said no such thing! Also, I love this carseat. My son is comfortable in it, and I like that he can be rear facing over a year because the safety standards recommend rear facing up to 30 pounds. I think it's easy to get him in and out. all around PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, when it is installed correctly, rearfacing, it doesn't move a dime at all!!!!!!!!!!!! very secure in my honda accord

 "Great Car Seat" 2010-03-04
By EngineeringChika (Louisville, KY USA)
I have been very happy with this car seat. I purchased one about 8 months ago for my vehicle (our family's primary car) and have been very happy with the car seat. My daughter loves it...she enjoys being able to put her juice right beside her, keeps her keys in the side compartment, etc. It is well padded (much better than any of the other seats we found in this price range) and seems to be very sturdy so far. My only complaint about the seat is the tightening mechanism. The infant seat that we used until my daughter was big enough to face forward had the most convenient way to tighten and loosen the seat belt. It had one strap in the front of the seat that we could pull to tighten and lift a latch to loosen...both could be done with one hand. This car seat, however, has the belt adjuster on the shoulder strap of the harness. This is an awkward place to put it, partially because it gets in the way when I try to buckle my daughter into the seat. It is effective, but not near as convenient as the other car seat was. Overall, my husband and I have been very happy with this car seat. We liked it so much that we bought a second car seat of the exact same model for our secondary vehicle.

I snapped my daughters into place and they seem fine, As long as they are snapped on right they shouldn't come off. So far im happy with this purchase. I know my daughter will love riding in her new seat.

By D. Astley (Southwest OK USA)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R19WDK7QS02QQI We recently purchased three of these seats for our three oldest grandchildren. They had outgrown their infant restraint seats, but regular booster seats did not provide enough support or protection. After reading reviews, we found Evenflo's Big Kid's DLX Booster Seat to be a good purchase, plus Amazon's free shipping was available. We had three of these seats shipped for free to our grandchildren. They are proud of their seats and they especially like the activity lights on each side of the seat. Their parents like the practical microfiber covering in a neutral color, cactus (a/k/a taupe a/k/a beige). We like the seats because if the grandchildren fall asleep during long rides, they can rest their heads on the side rests of the seats. Be sure and have AAA batteries on hand because your child or grandchild will want to turn on the activity lights "right now." An added attraction is that the box the seat is shipped in can be used for a tiny playhouse!

 "great seat" 2009-10-03

I had bought a similar model at Target and ordered this one. Comparing at home, this one was made with a better quality fabric that looks like it'll hold up much better and the seat had more padding. My daughter loves this seat and it's two cup and snack holders. Only complaint, no head support when she falls asleep. Her head and upper body just flop over. She still sleeps but it looks terribly uncomfortable. I think we'll try one of those u-shaped neck pillows and see if that helps. The lights are ingenious, don't know why other models don't have them.

"Evenflo Big Kid Booster - Hawkeye" 2009-09-12
By TBT PSO Mom (Sunrise, FL USA)
When I bought this seat my son had just turned 4. I was looking for a booster that was going to be padded and comfortable and I went to several stores and I ready many reviews. The DLX Booster was by far the most padded and comfortable that we found. The one we bought was a dark and light gray (which hides the occassional spill). There were other boosters that were monster sized with padding but they looked more like car seats and defeated the purpose of getting the seat from one car to another with ease. The seat has a strap that you attach to the car seatbelt and it holds the seat belt down away from the neck at a great angle so as not to cause discomfort or burn in the event of an accident. The top (back support)of the Evenflo DLX Booster seat is high enough so the head can rest on it. The back is easily detachable for future use when he is using only the seat. This particular booster (DLX model) comes with little lights on the side which was a great selling point (ironically we have not used yet). The seat is extremely light and not flimsy. The downside... When I was reading reviews on this booster alot of the parents said that their child's head did not flop or hang down when they fell asleep. My boy's head lolled forward and sideways in his carseat and now does the same in the booster. I use the little neck support cushion that I had when he was a baby and that works fine. I highly recommend this booster seat.
