  I did some serious research before purchasing this Booster for my two girls, ages 4 & 6. They both LOVE them. Very lightwieght & easy to transfer between cars. Both girls can buckle themselves without any problems. The color is very neutral and isn't too girlie for my husband when he carts the kids around in his "man truck".   First the pros:
  
  1. Nice looking seat
  
  2. Pretty easy to keep clean
  
  3. Adjustments are easy and it fits well in a small SUV (I have an Escape)
  
  4. Does a basic job
  
  5. Folds up if you're someone who will move it around a lot.
  
  
  
  Cons:
  
  1. Incredibly lightweight to the point of wondering how much protection it offers.
  
  2. Does not give any more protection than your car. This seat uses a basic, cross over seatbelt from your car with no additional restraint or way to secure the seat into your car.
  
  3. Cup holders. Right. They should have just skipped them altogether with how tiny these are. There is one on each side, but they aren't even big enough to hold a standard size water bottle, kid's travel cup or juice box. Who decided this was a good/useful size? Obviously someone without kids...
  
  4. Expensive for how much you don't get. A lot of boosters go for about half what this one costs. Next time, I'll ignore all the good reviews until I can see one up-close. No more ordering without trying on something like this for me. 8(

  I am very happy with the First Years Compass Ultimate Folding Adjustable Booster. I was primarily concerned with safety when I was looking for a booster. I found the adjustability good for properly fitting the seat belt. I initially thought there would be latch attachment, but there was not. I soon realized that the proper fitting seat belt is the security I get in my seat belt. The only difference is that the booster has side head rest. We bought this chair booster seat to replace the car seat for our 7 year old son. We also have a regular booster seat but this chair booster seat is surely more comfortable. For one, the seat belt loops inside the side open of the chair and so the belt doesn't rub against the neck. On long distance drive, the headrest allows my son to sleep comfortably by leaning his head on either side of the chair headrest. Another good thing is the seat can be folded for storage and the seat cover can be removed for washing. The only negative thing is that unlike the car seat, this chair doesn't have an opening in the back so that you can anchor the chair to the car back seat anchors. But overall, it was an excellent buy.

The seat is easy to use and made of great quality products. When buckling the seat belt, it is nice to be able to push the armrests up and out of the way. It is easy to travel with because it folds up so small and is very lightweight. My 5 year old son is always excited to use his big boy seat! He really likes its sporty look. The only thing missing, which I knew would be, was having the 5 point harness option. I look forward to having this last me a long time!!!

I have been searching for a narrow booster seat that would fit in my Mercedes C350. The Graco booster was the narrowest I could find and it was still very, very tight. When I pulled out the Compass booster, it was very wide, but the back portion is narrow. It fits perfectly in my car with extra space for buckling! The kids also love them, they are good for napping.

  This car seat has been great, my daughter is very comfortable in it. We bought the boster with a high back because it has a head rest for long trips. She sleeps just fine in this one because the head sides turn in more than other seats. It folds for storage and is easy to travel with, I can fold it and carry it through the airport easily because it is so light.   I bought 2 - one for a 5yr old and one for a 3yr old. I chose this one b/c it folds for travel. We had a 9 hr flight to endure on our way to our new overseas home - and I DID not want to have to carry big clunky seats around big airports! Therefore I also bought the carrying bags for each seat (now there is an entirly different review - they are very thin and provide as much protection as a sheet with a zipper!) We put both seats into checked baggage, and I was so worried that they would be damaged. They made it beautifully! I was amazed - cause you know how luggage gets thrown around - and we did have one bag that was destroyed. So I can completly attest - they are VERY Durable!!!
  
  
  
  The kids both love these seats, they seem very comfy and they love the cupholders. The arms lift up for easy entry and it is very easy to adjust the height for a taller kid. I am also very happy that the seat belt is very secure in the guide of this seat - no amout of kid wiggle is going to pull it out. It puts the belt in the perfect position for them.
  
  
  
  My only complaint is it is a little tough to get them to fold and unfold. Maybe they just arent broken in yet - but it takes a little muscle, brain power and patients right now.

  We love this car seat! Though we've only used it for 2 days, it's clearly a winner. My 4 year old loves the arms that go up and down and the cup holders. Yesterday, he fell asleep in the car seat for the first time and was pretty comfortable! Only when I had to stop quickly did his head flop forward.   My Son is almost 5 and 44 inches and this booster seems to work great for him. I like that the height is adjustable and that it is easy to fold up. Con's

- Hard to open at first (when in folded position). We actually called the manufacturer because we thought we were going to break them trying to open them the first time! You just have to pull really hard. No latch or anything. After the first few times, it gets easier.

My grandson loves his new seat. He says it is soo soft and comfortable. It is great and since I can't test it myself he is very happy. The best thing is the head is kept safe with closer to the head padding. I researched a lot of booster seats and this one seems to have the best rating and it will grow with him until he is ready for the regular seat.

Nice seat. Don't like that you must leave seat buckled when child is not in seat to keep it from flying around while driving. For most secure fastening, pull all tension out of belt, then let all slack wind up, then pull snugly against child and adjust lap portion low on hips, and make sure shoulder section is not against face.

After researching booster seats on consumersearch, I knew the First Years Compass and the Graco were both top rated. I initially thought I would go with a Graco because they are easier to find in stores. After visiting several stores, I was disappointed in the quality of the fabrics; I thought they looked cheap. I decided to order the First Years Compass B540 Ultra Folding Adjustable Booster in Giraffe, even though I worrried about trying to return such a large item through the mail if I didn't like it. I was so excited when I opened the box because it was exactly what I wanted! The fabric was plush and the print was adorable, not tacky. I bought it for my daughter, but this print would work for boys, too. My daughter liked it so much she wanted it left in the house that day so she could sit in it. It took her about 5 seconds to find the 2 cupholders and she insisted on having a drink in both.



My car interior has tans/browns and the seat matches great. But with the black in the print it would look good with grey/black car interiors as well.
