We have used these for all of our kids. They are not perfect but do work as advertised. My kids are smart enough to buckle and install the adjuster as needed.
As a chiropractor, I can see they do move the belt to the proper spot. They do protect the neck area.

This product did absolutely no good for us. It made it difficult if not impossible to tighten the lap belt sufficiently and the result was the lap belt got pulled up, instead of the shoulder belt being pulled down. That can be fatal!

While I would agree this is not the end all of car seat safety, it worked OK for us. However, it is difficult for the kids to do up the belt themselves with this attachment. It did solve my problem of the shoulder belt cutting into the neck area. Booster seats don't fit well with Captain's chairs, so it was better than nothing. The Other Safety 1st seat belt adjuster in two parts works much better! But it's not for kids under 50lbs. That one gets a higher rating from me.

My daughter hated the car from the 1st moment we put her in it. She would scream the entire trip, until she fell asleep from exhaustion. I figured it would help her to have a distraction, and help me to know that she was ok (just mad). It did both. I don't know if she really cared about the music, but the dangling animals grabbed her attention. I think she also enjoyed seeing herself.



The music is a little annoying, but no more so than the music any of her other toys play. My only complaints are that 1) it does create a big blind spot, 2) it's hard to adjust so that I can see her without the toys getting in the way, and 3) it eats batteries if you turn the music on all the time (which I do)



All in all, I'm very glad I purchased this. Just make sure you keep some AA batteries and a screwdriver in the car!

My 4 month old LOVES this mirror. A God-send for a baby who doesn't cry until she's in her car seat. My only complaint is that is sticks up kind of high and blocks a little bit of my rear view. I've gotten used to it but I wish they could have made it drop down lower on the seat.

This mirror works when I thought it wouldn't. The different ways it attaches to your car should work with any car. The only bad things is that it moves a little too easily when I put the car seat in the car, and I have to constantly adjust it when I get in the car to make sure I can see my son from the front seat. The other thing that I don't like is that you can't see them in the dark, but I don't know if thats possible with any mirror. I think its cute and I like that it plays music. Great choice!

My husband and I love this product and so does our little girl who's 9 weeks old. She loves looking at the animals and at herself in the mirror. If she tends to get fussy in her carseat, we simply turn the music on and she usually stops fussing and eventually falls asleep. However, in order to start the music, we either have to turn it on before we start driving, or the passenger has to do it (obviously inconvinient if there is only the driver in the car). Also, the batteries didn't last as long as we would have liked, but maybe that was because she loves it so much, we always had to turn it on :D Overall, I find this product great and would recommend it to others.

After reading several of the reviews, I purchased one to try out for my Honda Pilot. Although this was more expensive than the other covers I had tried, this worked reasonably well for a generic product. The materials used to make this cover was also more substantial than the others I had tried. It was also very easy to attach to the back of the seat. The only thing I would have liked would have been a pocket of some sort as the back seat protector covers up the pockets on the car seats.



1/18/2010 - One additional comment. Unlike some of the other covers which only covers the back, this one wraps around the seat which is ideal for my three year old who currently sits in the middle of the second row.

I contemplated getting one of the cheaper alternatives to this product but didn't want to mess around with returns, disappointment, etc. So I spent some time reading the reviews for this and related products. I ended up ordering this product and have been using it for several months now. It truly fits the back of the seat well and it is well designed. The material not only covers the back of the seat but wraps the sides as well. This is important to not only keep the sides of your seats clean but serves to secure the product. The back and sides of my beige leather seats on my Acura have been saved from my 4 year old's sandy and muddy shoes and I'm happy too.

According to a former nation safety council member and approved CHP child seat inspector, this is NOT approved to use with a child seat. Do not buy this!! After our car seat inspection we returned this; better safe than sorry.

We've had one of these installed on one seat for a few years and the condition of the seat without the seat protector versus the one with the seat protector is obvious. This works.



There are two drawbacks, however:

1) the protector doesn't go high enough up the back. There is still lots of wear on the seat back because of the lack of protection there. This is the biggest disadvantage for me.

2) it makes the seat slipperier. Tight installation of the carseat is more difficult to achieve, although that may be less problematic with newer carseat latch system. I do have the best method for tightening those seats that still use straps for installation. If you have the captain style chairs, install the seat tightly with the chair reclined and then push that seat back up as far as possible and your carseat will not budge, not even a millimeter; and the slipperiness of the seat protector is moot.

We keep a carseat in our car for our grandson, but we noticed our leather seats were straining under the weight and pressure of the seat/child. With the purchase of a new carseat we decided to buy the seat protector. It has only recently been installed so the verdict is not in as to its ability to truly protect the seats from cracking or tearing. I do like the pockets in front for storage of handwipes or tissues. The protector helps with spills and crumbs. The quality is good and the price is right.

Anything placed between your car's seat and an infant seat loosens the installation and violates the seat's warranty. Sure it's convenient and keeps your car seats clean, but it's not worth endangering your child's life over.
