 "Great toy" 2010-05-18
By Kristi Bevevino (Illinois)
I got this for my twin boys when they were first born to sooth them to sleep. They didn't really care for it until about 5 months or so. It took some punishment and subsequently, so did the wooden crib after the twins moved it back and forth trying to get it off the crib. If you're trying to preserve your crib for whatever reason, this will probably hurt the finish, so you might want to put some kind of cloth under the straps or something. The music is pleasing enough for the kids and the moving fish is a great distraction. The only thing I would like them to change would be that the motor that moves the fish is actually pretty loud if you have the sound all the way down. If you're a child trying to get to sleep (or a mother laying right next to the child) you don't really want to hear the motor, you want to hear the music. Overall, it's a great product and I would suggest you buy two if you have twins!

 "10 minutes??? Really???" 2009-09-04
By R. Heminger (Auburn, IN)
Ok, I didn't purchase this aquarium, it was given to me by someone whose son didn't use it much. Good thing I didn't pay for it or I would be really unhappy. At first I thought it was great. My son loved it. The first time I tried to use it to calm him and put him to sleep however, I discovered 10 minutes were just not enough. He would just start to go to sleep when it would shut off. That made him made. For as much money as this thing costs, there should be a time setting too so you can choose how long it plays. I am going to go buy one that actually plays longer at a time. Hope this helps you.

 "Beware! batteries leak!" 2009-05-23
By D. Kirby (Cleveland, OH)
This crib toy was great until the battery acid began to leak and trickled the rails of the crib and of course my daughter got it on her hands and mouth. Fortunately she didn't get any burns on her skin or mouth but this stuff has lead in it and all sorts terrible things. I was VERY upset. We have had the toy for a little over a year. I'm just surprised I haven't seen any recalls.

"Overall great and useful for a long time" 2009-02-12
By J. Beck
We got this for my son for Christmas when he was a baby, so he'd have something to replace his mobile when he outgrew it. While I completely agree with reviewers that it is a pain to install and remove (very poorly designed in that regard), my son is 2 1/2 and still loves it. The bubbles stopped working by the time we changed the batteries the first time, but my son didn't seem to care about the bubbles anyway. Since he moved into a big boy bed, we removed the aquarium and put in on his bedside table, and it really helped him make the transition. We usually keep it on the music and lights setting, and I don't think it's too bright (although his room is pretty dark otherwise, so it also functions as a bit of a nightlight for going to sleep). It is certainly well worth what we paid (not the $88 I'm noticing it for on Amazon today, although FP may have discontinued this model in favor of the waterfall soother).

"Wanted to love it - was disappointed!" 2009-12-31
By NinaRina (Texas)
Well, I researched and researched, and looked forward to this toy. We had to replace our son's crib toy as the machinery became noisy, and settled with this one for our second child. I love the sounds and the bubbles and fish are captivating. One problem - this thing is too darn BRIGHT! I wish the light could be turned down to a softer glow. When I put this on, my child's eyes are like saucers! Back to the drawing board! It is also not sound activated which is a shame too.

"My four grandchildren have all loved the Ocean-Wonders Aquarium!" 2009-12-19
By P. Winstanley (Marshall, MI USA)
Whenever I have a baby shower to go to or a new grandchild on its way, I buy the Fisher-Price Aquarium Crib toy. My daughter sent one to her first Nephew when he was born and that has been handed down to three other children in the same family. The kids can turn it on and off with their feet when they are still infants, and they love the lights and the music.

 "Great and affordable" 2009-12-12
By V. Cooper (Frisco, TX)
We own two different aquariums from FP, but they have very similar functionalities. We had get one a second one for the daycare crib . We love this one because it comes with a remote control. It doesn't look impressive until you turn it on. Minicoop was very mesmerized by the moving algae, lights, fish, and music. The music volume has mulitple levels and it's very soothing. The light is a bit on the bright side, but you can simply avoid it by not putting the baby too close to the aquarium. When she was an infant she would stare at this every night before she would fall asleep. Minicoop is 18 months now and she still likes to listen to this on a regular basis. The funny thing is, she is now old enough to know how to push it on and off herself! The most precious thing is when we first witnessed her sitting up and pushing the button for the first time!

We must have bought a defective one because I'll tell you, this thing was a problem from the get go. The movement of the fish and plants caused a very loud and annoying clicking sound and replacing the batteries is a pain. Despite all this we kept it for the music and now 7 months later, the water has evaporated so the fish looks as if it's swimming in a shallow pond. If you're a busy mom who doesn't have time to hunt down your sales reciepts and drive all the way back to the store to return things, don't buy one of these.

 "nice for baby" 2009-10-12
By Debby (Los Angeles, CA)
I've had this since before my 4 month old was born and just a week ago figured out it plays other music! I thought it only played Pachelbel's canon.

This entertains my son for short periods when he is in his crib. It's soft, comforting light soothes him when he's in a bad, cranky mood so that is invaluble. (Although he won't fall asleep to it-- too bright).

It is difficult to change the battery and to get on and off the crib, but we don't move it much.

When we had it on his playpen, it used to go on all by itself (I guess the light from the digital clock in the living room actived the remote sensor?) and we had to cover it with a towel at night. Since we moved it into his room we haven't had that problem (and thank goodness, because it'd wake him up otherwise!)

The toy is so charming and cute.
