We have been using this system for 4 months now. After using the stroller for 2 months, the wheel completely broke off! The "single hand fold" is a horrible design and doesn't work! We thought the product was defective, but it is the design that stinks. The carseat is a huge pain. The handle is super difficult to fold down and the way you buckle the straps in is again a bad design. Don't waste your money or time on this system. We have already had to replace it. Even though the carseat is rated to 22 lbs, my son who is 18 lbs does not fit in the straps any more and there is no room to make it bigger. Overall, it looks nice, but poor designs all around.

We bought the "Orange Oak" pattern of this product at Babies R Us but we looked at the Mesa and it is exactly the same, except for the fabric. We bought it before our son was born, sometime in December I believe, and put it together right away. It was fairly easy to assemble.
Our son was born 2/4/09 and we have been using the car seat portion almost daily since. The stroller we use only about weekly. It is rather large even when it folds up, but that would be the only con I can think of at this point. Granted, we've only used it for 9 weeks now.
The car seat itself is awesome. It uses the "Latch" system which all newer vehicles (starting in 2001 or 2002) have. This allows the base to just snap into hooks in your back seat, then the infant carrier clicks into the base. The infant carrier has a triangle shaped handle which makes it easier to carry it at many different angles. Our son was pretty little (5lbs 13oz) when we came home from the hospital so we did buy an infant head rest, but now that he's bigger it is probably time to take it out and just adjust the built-in adjustable headrest.
We bought a second Baby Trend car seat base at a kid's consignment shop for very cheap and now we have the flexibility to use either vehicle without swapping car seats. Again, we haven't used the stroller too much yet but overall we're very happy and would buy it again.
********UPDATE AS OF 8/4/09****** Have been using the stroller portion much more often now. Not sure I like it. Yes it is still bulky- takes up most of the back of our small SUV, doesn't fold up flat, and the wheels are starting to warp. It is hard to push around sometimes because the wheels don't all want to go straight and a couple of the wheels are warped and not a perfect circle anymore. Not sure how that happened because we don't use it that often. When not in use, the stroller sits folded up in our finished basement with A/C so it isn't sitting in the heat to get warped. I still love the car seat portion, though at 6 months old, my son is now 27 inches long and the max height is 28.5 inches (and he's only 14 pounds, max weight is 22 pounds). Not looking forward to switching car seats because we really like being able to take the seat out and switch cars easily by clicking into the "flex-loc base". For example, I will drop my son off at day care with the car seat and my husband will pick him up with the car seat and just click into the base in the other car.
I'm still happy with the value of the entire system for the price we paid, but I think we'll end up getting a new stroller system when our son gets older. I don't think this will last through to another child.

We bought this travel system at Target and we are very disappointed with the product. The stroller is the biggest problem we have. The latch where you pull in to fold the stroller down (to put into the car) well it's very hard to squeeze in and it will sometimes not even budge. It's even hard for my husband who actually does have muscle. We've exchanged 2 times with this product thinking it was a defect, but come to find out it's the product/brand itself. As the other review stated she gave this a star only because there was no option not to give it a star. Same with mine, there is no option to not give it at least one star.

Do not buy Baby Trend strollers! I only gave it 1 star because I couldn't figure out how to give it none. We have a Safari Travel System and the support bar between the rear wheels completely broke in two after less than 4 months of daily walks on the sidewalk. And Baby Trend refuses to cover a repair or replacement. Only buy if you consider strollers disposable items, because ours is now ready to throw away.
