 "Super hard to buckle!" 2010-11-03
By Frank Frank (Virginia)
My wife complains everytime she has to buckle him into the carseat. The design requires you to have big hands that clasp two parts together before inserting it. Maybe I will make a video

We hav compared this to other seats hich are much better.

I do like the front bar and the 33 pound max.

I love this car seat. I got it for my new granddaughter along with the stroller to match. Very easy to work. Clicked right into the stroller and releases just as easy. This is my fourth Combi product and it again has lived up to my expectations.

"Love Combi - this, not so much" 2010-09-13
By Andi (Chicago)
I REALLY wanted a Combi carseat. We have a Combi double stroller that I am thrilled with, and I also know that Combi has a good safety rating. Well, first of all, this carseat - the violet one - is not as pictured color-wise. The color is actually a BRIGHT periwinkle, and I think it's much too girly for boys - at least for mine anyway. But even for being so bright, the carseat just looks very drab and boring. I know that's not the most important consideration for a carseat, but if people didn't consider what the pattern was, manufacturers wouldn't have so many. Anyway, as far as use, I didn't even install it in the car to try it out, because I thought the installation of the carseat itself into the base wasn't as easy as it could have been. Also, this was a little too big - in my mind - for smaller babies, which mine were/are. They were preemies (but going home weights of 5 and 6 lbs), and this wasn't going to work even though the lower weight limit was in line with them. It doesn't have one of those inserts for newborns, so if you were to put a newborn in, they would look, very, very small and although the straps keep the baby in place, it's always nice to have a little extra something to make them feel snug. Back to the Combi double stroller...it's a side by side, and with twins I realy wanted a stroller that would accomodate 2 carseats, and there's no way this was going to work out. The stroller will accommodate 1 carseat, but not very safely. The carseat didn't snap in and I felt like it wasn't stable. In addition, the carseats are too big for even one carseat to fit on one side and not take too much space from the other seat. I have a 2 year old as well, so if he were to be sitting on one side and the carseat was installed on the other, he would constantly have to lean away to the outer side of his spot. I think Combi makes some great stuff, but this wasn't a winner for us. I gave it three stars because it does have a good safety rating and it feels structurally solid, but costmetics and functionality cost it those last two stars.

 "Best Seat ever used!!" 2010-06-14
By Mary N. Hawker (VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA, US)
this seat is very easy to use/carry around, especially because of the extra rebound bar in front. This is also easy to install in the car because it has a level indicator and level positioner...you will never have to place towels under the base to keep the seat even while in the car, plus when you put the seat in, it clicks very easy to let you know it's locked in and I have never had to fight with the seat to get it out like most other car seats. I never knew that spending a few extra dollars on a car seat would make this big of a difference, glad i did!!!

 "Very lightweight" 2010-09-28
By nataly80 (New Orleans, LA United States)
My baby is at the 100% percentile in weight, so having a lightweight stroller/carseat was very important. This stroller works great for us. It's very sturdy and easy to use, and I can open it and mount the car seat in seconds. It also has 3 velcro compartments/pockets and a wide net at the base for storage, which is great compared to most other lightweight strollers on the market. I am so happy we used this model with our infant!

"A must have for the combi shuttle" 2010-07-11
By J. Galbraith (Florida)
There's no way we could have even began to carry around our baby in the combi shuttle. It was just too heavy, and my wife got pregnant again right after we had our first baby, so she couldn't carry that around with a baby in it at all. This stroller frame is very easy to use, and made life easy for us. The Combi shuttle is probably the best car seat we've ever seen, and it was very secure and comfortable for our first baby, and our second will soon be using it. If you have a shuttle, you pretty much have to get this. It is a great thing to have.

 "Do NOT buy!" 2009-08-24
By E. E. Ceresa (Detroit, MI United States)
Do NOT buy this item if you value your child's safety. We purchased this item from Armitage Direct, to be used with a Combi Shuttle infant car seat. They advertised that the Flash EX and the Shuttle car seat were compatible. They were not. The seat simply sits on the frame, only held on by a thin strap. Nowhere does it lock. With this model of seat, there isn't even a notch for it to stay in place. It's much like putting your car seat on top of a wheeled table and rolling it around, and about that safe.

We contacted Armitage Direct (who runs [...]) to return it, and were told that the seat and frame were compatible and that it was our mistake, despite the fact that the Flash EX lists compatible seats in its owner's manual and the Flash EX is NOT listed. We got nothing but the runaround from them. Despite that, there's no way I'm putting my child in this. I'll be purchasing the Graco Snugride and the Graco Snugrider frame. Those actually fit together safely.

Short version: do NOT buy this frame if you value your child's safety, and do NOT buy from [...] if you value customer service.

 "Buy something else!!" 2010-03-15
By KLAEL (Salt Lake City, Utah)
I really wanted a combi stroller for my 4th baby and I knew that only combi car seats fit into the combi stroller. I read many of the reviews on this car seat (more of them are in the apricot color) and decided to give it a try. While I am happy with the stroller, this car seat has been a pain in my side since day one. I hate it EVERY time I go to unlatch it from the base and it won't come out. I have to wiggle it from side to side (which often wakes sleeping baby up) and push down while I pull really hard for it come out.

I tried the WD40 and it didn't help at all. I kept thinking that once my baby got a bit heavier I wouldn't have the problem anymore, but he is now 6 months and 15 pounds and it still sticks EVERY time. Ugh! I think about how much I hate this car seat every time I try to get him out of the base. What a pain. I called combi customer service and they were not helpful at all to say the least. I can't believe that combi doesn't seem to care enough about their customers to fix this problem. I really regret getting this car seat.

 "Car Seat" 2009-11-19
By Sam (Missoula, MT)
We purchased this car seat after looking around for a while... with that being said, I should have listened to the other reviews. Here's what I have found out:

Pros:

*I love the look of this car seat; we get compliments on it all the time.

*The carrying handle is extra tall so it is easier to carry the baby around and we bought a small mobile that hangs from it without hitting our son in the face.

*The price was fair.

Cons:

*The sun shade does not stay up. It is very flimsy.

*There isn't any head support for a small infant, so we purchased one to sit in the car seat so our son's head didn't move around so much.

* While the strap length does adjust, there aren't slots in the back of the seat that allow you to adjust the straps that way too.

*It is VERY hard to get the seat to unlatch from the base. After months of having my husband do it, I can finally do it on my own.

While I don't mind this car seat, I wish we would have spent more money and got something else.

 "Love this car seat" 2010-06-02
By Judith Wolff (Las Vegas, NV)
I bought this seat for my 15month old. Car seats I had owned previously for my other children did not support them very well and they were unable to sleep in it comfortably. This one is awesome, the cover is soft and thick, support my son. Even the seatbelts have soft covers so they don't cut into his sholders. Attachment in the car is easy and taking him in and out is also a breeze. I am thrilled with this seat - look just like the pictures and the colors (I have the blue one) are awesome. I highly recommend this seat!

"cute and functional, cherry pie" 2010-05-30
By S. N. Warren (Maine)
my favorite thing about this seat is it will help my daughter to rear face much longer than some of the infant seats, and rear facing car seats for little kids is SO MUCH SAFER.

[...]

my other favorite thing about this seat is how small it is! my daughter is 6 months, 13.5lbs and 25 inches now, and we've been using this for almost 1.5 months. i can see the top of her head from the drivers seat! wow!! i also love the low profile, it makes putting her in it fairly easy (i also have a small car, nissan versa, so i appreciate that this car seat isnt huge). i think this seat is VERY comfortable for her- much more so than her infant seat, a peg perego prim viaggio. the infant padding is mandatory (per manufactuer) till the baby is 15lbs, and we're almost there, i can't wait! the extra padding at this point makes it hard to adjust the top straps snuggly, as her shoulder straps are higher than the openings on the infant insert. it comes with padding on the shoulder straps (which is easily removable for cleaning) and i like them because my daughter is a big spitter!

we have the cherry pie color, which was disappointing in person. the outside is almost a maroon, and the inside is a brighter red and the two together almost clash IMO. but, i'm happy i chose a darker shade (rather than the pastels) to hide stains and i'd buy it again.

i like that once the infant padding is removed it gives my daughter SO much more room in the seat before she will outgrow it. there are many many inches of headroom till she reaches the 1" below the top of the shell rule.

this carseat doesnt have the no rethread adjustable harness like some models' i've looked at but i dont think thats a big deal at all. its easy to do, especially since my DD is rear facing.

this car seat is very light weight, comparable to the infant buckets with removable bases, and if we were traveling on an airplane, this seat would be a HUGE plus.

my least favorite thing about this seat is the "puzzle buckle". i have gotten used to it, and its not a deal breaker, but like someone else said, WHY would anyone use the words "car seat" and "puzzle" togther? its ANNOYING! but i'm used to it and like everything else about it. but i'd avoid this feature if i could.

all in all, its a great, safe car seat and super cute and i love that my daughter is comfortable in the car. we're all happy!

"Perfect seat for the small auto/suv" 2010-05-20
By Jade Bundy (Texas, USA)
My husband and I are very happy to have picked out this seat. Our son (who is large for his age - 9lbs 13oz at birth) settles down immediately when placed into the cradling cushion of this carseat.

We typically drive a 2008 4 door Jeep Wrangler, which has very little legroom in the very upright backseat. We have had no problem installing this seat using the Latch system in our vehicle and there is plenty of room left in the backseat for an adult to ride, even with this carseat and our 1st child's booster seat.

Once installed and tightened properly, this seat does not move. The very visible "leveling" marker on the sides of the seat makes it very easy to know when you've tilted the seat into the correct position, which is easily done, given the curved bottom of the seat. No need for the pool noodle or towel to prop up the seat to the proper angle.

The infant insert is a perfect fit for our big boy, and the straps are a cinch to loosen and tighten when needed. I just moved the straps for the first time last weekend, and it took me all of 5 minutes, which included reading the instructions!

I highly recommend this seat to anyone who asks and would definately buy it again.

All in all, I am super pleased with this carseat and am glad that we chose it.

 "Do not buy!" 2010-03-09
By may (Il, USA)
The car seat is cheaply made out of plastic. It's really hard to take out from the base. I have to have all my power into my one hand squeezing so hard, and struggle for a few minutes to take the car seat from the base. I am so tired of doing that and thinking of purchasing a better one (definitely not from Combi). I wonder why some people like this car seat. And as some people point out, the shade doesn't stay up, and the base constantly loosen up so I have to tighten up. The first seat I got was defective!! One of the button was broken. I called customer service, and it was the worst service I've ever had. I had to send lots of photos to prove it is defective and I had to pay shipping fee. How come Combi USA can sell defective product and still make customer pay to replace? The only pros: it looks cute.

I believed Japanese product is safe and good, but sadly, it was not. I am not going to purchase anything from Combi.

I really want to return this car seat, but I purchased way before my daughter arrives, and now I can't return to the store...

"still not enjoying this car seat" 2010-01-09
By R. Agolloso (Los angeles, CA)
I purchased this combi carseat to fit my combi double stroller because i had an evenflo which is too big for the dou ble stroller. when this combi car seat arrived, i was surprised on how big it is too, i was thinking of a smaller one since the strollers are very compact. This car seat would have been nice if not for the latching on the base. I find it very difficult for me to unlatch it from the base, EVEN when i used the wd40 already. I sometimes have to think twice if i want to take my kids places because of this car seat. I find myself taking the baby out and just reclining the stroller so she would feel more comfortable. I have a 2mos old girl and she is very long and big, i also think she is very uncomfortable in this car seat. I am seriously planning on returning it.

"Sturdy, lighter than most, little snug" 2010-01-06
By Nicole (Columbus, Ohio)
We like this Combi carseat because it seems well made, sturdy, and baby fits in this seat comfortably. We used a graco with our first child and it was heavier and bulkier. We also like the look of the Combi since it has a simplistic yet trendy appeal to it. The fabric is of good quality unlike some of the other carseats I have seen. The only problems that I am having is getting this seat out of the base! My husband has no problem, but it is difficult for me. I had no problem with the Graco. I guess I will have to try the WD40 trick as other reviewers have mentioned.

The other problem is that our 5 week baby fits snuggly into this seat now, but will he be able to fit into this in a few months or so?

Other than this, it is very attractive, safe, sturdy, and well, it's not a graco...

 "Not the best..." 2009-11-28
By M. Allen (Triangle, VA, US)
Okay, so I'll start with the positives:

1. Aesthetically attractive design

2. Comfortable for baby

3. Works well with stroller system

Negatives:

1. Extremely difficult bottom buckle: The bottom buckle is made of 2 plastic latches that fit together like puzzle pieces before insertion. The problem is that it's difficult to hold together while buckling. Major design flaw. Would not have purchased if known beforehand.

2. Give in straps is uneven. Over 3 months the left strap has become significantly looser than the other. May be easy to fix, but annoying to deal with.

3. Hood could have more coverage. It would be nice if the hood stretched out a little more.

 "best car seat ever!" 2010-05-16
By Michelle Knecht (Laurinburg, NC United States)
This car seat is worth the price. If you have ever had to wrestle with putting a child in and out of a car seat, you will appreciate the rotating feature. The only negatives are that it is very heavy and very tall. It may not fit inside a smaller car. It fits very well in our new minivan and in our old SUV.

 "genius carseat!" 2010-05-03
By Amy Barger (Aragon, GA)
We purchased this carseat because of a recommendation from a friend. She has two children, and absolutely loved this seat. I took my chances and ordered the Combi Zeus 360 after only reading reviews. The baby stores near me only offered this carseat online, so there was no way to try it out. It arrived at my doorstep in 4-5 days after I ordered online through Amazon.

First, the positive... Installation was no big deal (as some people will say). I am petite and 5 feet tall, and I removed this carseat from the box by myself and installed it in my car by myself as well. I usually leave things like this for my husband, but I was so excited to try the seat out, I did it all myself. It took me about 30 minutes to install and figure out how the seat works. Simple! A lot of people claim that this seat is really tall and bulky. I drive a 2005 Nissan Altima (which is a bigger car) and it fits perfectly in my back seat. I have no problem seeing out my back window, however if I am turning around I have to stretch a little to peek over the top. But, again I am 5 feet tall. Even when my husband drives my car and pushes the seat all the way back, we still don't hit the carseat. I LOVE the material of this carseat. Very well made... easily removeable and washable. I don't feel like my baby sweats in it, like she did in her infant carrier. The infant seat insert (which we soon took out because she outgrew it) and tummy pad is great. Most other carseats don't offer that, and I feel like it is more comfortable and protects them more. I felt like my baby was padded and secure and comfortable. The rotation mechanism is pure genius. I had nieces and nephews who had regular rear-facing carseats, and having this luxury with my own baby has been so nice.

The negatives... just two. My baby was not yet 6 months old when it was delivered. She was only 14-15 lbs at that time, so I was worried about her head hanging uncomfortably. This is one of two negative things I will say about the seat. Her head did (and still does) hang a little awkward when she falls asleep in it. But to me, that is to be expected with a convertible seat anyway. The other negative is the lap belt attachment over the tummy pad is a little short. Sometimes it is a little work (especially when the baby is fighting being put in the carseat) to get it fastened. Most other times, it goes in pretty easily, but it could be a little longer.

For the most part, I feel like this seat is amazing. Knowing that when my child is a year old, all I have to do is hold a few buttons to turn the seat around is NICE. I would recommend this seat to anyone! Best baby purchase yet!

"Nice seat for bigger infants" 2010-04-20
By E. Patoine (Vermont)
This seat is really nice for those of us with bigger infants. They can still be rear facing, but you don't need to tote their infant seat around with them and add to their 18+ lbs. I guess my only two concerns with the seat are that for one, it's huge. I have a full size chevy truck with a full back seat, so it's fine in there (besides the fact that I can't see much while backing up). My husband has a dodge dakota and thinks the seat is too huge for his truck. The baby loves it though because he can actually see out the window instead of staring at the seat. My other concern is that even though he's only 6 months old, when he's wearing shoes his feet are already in the way of the swivel motion. If I forget to move his feet first, his legs get all curled up when I turn the seat toward me. I am still happy with my purchase and think it was well worth the money.

"An amazing car seat that isn't the size of a tank..." 2010-04-30
By Cindy Z (Chicago IL)
I bought this to use in my small Pontiac and it has proven to be better than any other car seat we have used. It installed amazingly well in my car as well as my husbands SUV. There was zero movement and adjusting straps is the easiest I've seen. There's actually room to move the seats back and you can sit other people in the back...it's not just two teenie spaces people have to squeeze into anymore. AND seat belts on either side are accessible. The seat sits higher up and seems very comfortable to my daughter. She love it too...always says bye to it when we leave the car. We've used a Maxi Cosi Priori, Britax Marathon, and Safety 1st Avenue which were all put to shame by this cute, little rookie. We have another baby on the way and when the time comes this will be the seat we repurchase. VERY pleased.

This car seat is a Godsend! We have a VW Rabbit 2 door. Once the baby was getting way too big for his infant seat we started to panic. We tried literally every car seat at virtually every store and nothing would fit without pushing the passenger seat almost all the way to the dash. I am only 5'4" and I couldn't even get into the passenger seat! I found the Cocorro online and crossed my fingers when I ordered. It fits like a dream! And there is enough room in the back seat for my nearly 6' tall teenage son to still fit. There is even enough room to add another car seat if the time ever comes. The baby loves it. He can sit higher up even rear facing, and it is super softly padded for comfort. It sits high enough that when we turn the car seat to face forward next month after his first birthday, he will be able to see out the windows. We got that fab red color to hide dirty hand prints, and the fabric looks like it will wear like iron.

Thank you Combi! You let me keep my beloved Rabbit and saved me thousands by not having to buy another car. Thanks Amazon for the great deal that saved me $20 on this car seat and FREE SHIPPING!!

"Love the size and Color" 2010-04-13
By K. Filippetti (Ellington, CT USA)
We have the Cocorro and the Recaro. We love both of the seats. I have to say that installing both forward facing was fairly easy. For the Cocorro it took more time to read the directions and find the latch hidden in seat than it did to install. I didn't try it rear facing yet because I can still use an infant carrier for my younger daughter. The Recaro is a lot bigger and great in the SUV but I wanted something a little smaller in the A4. This seat is perfect. You still have full view out the back window. As a comparison to the both, its harder to get at the strap adjustments on the back of the Recaro (Como). The panel does not come off easily or at least the one I have is a real pain. I now just leave it off now that its forward facing. The back of the Cocorro is easy to remove and easy to adjust the straps. My older daughter loved the colors and of course wanted them all. She is on the very small side, so this seat will last for a while with her. If you have a long little one, this seat might not last that long because it is small. The Recaro is much higher. I have travelled with the Recaro and it does fit in planes but is heavier and kind of awkward, especially if you are flying alone with a toddler. I imagine the Cocorro will be much easier to fly with both because its light and because getting it in the airplane seat will probably be a lot easier.

The Cherry Pie is a little darker than I was expecting, but i figure that is better in the long run.

My daughter loves both seats. She is comfy in both and only fusses due to the time in the car not the seat. We recommend both highly.

"Great in all of our cars, including my Mini Cooper!" 2010-04-03
By J. Liotta
We installed this seat rear-facing in a Honda Insight to replace a Snugride when our daughter outgrew the infant carrier. The Combi rear-facing took up less room than the Snugride! We recently switched the seat around to forward facing now that our daughter is old enough. All of us really like the Combi, which I originally picked due to the size restrictions in my mini cooper. The seat was installed forward facing in the mini, so I can't say exactly how the Combi functions rear-facing in a mini. I can tell that the seat would fit rear-facing in a mini, but that getting a baby in and out of that configuration would not be easy. Those, like me, who love their minis might be ok with this.

We haven't had any of the 'wobble' problems that some other reviewers experienced; all of our cars have LATCH. We recently went on a multi-state trip and took the Combi. It was a very easy seat to travel with, and we had no problems securing it in any of the three rental cars we had. The licorice color is very attractive and sleek. Love it so far.

"Nice little car seat, tuff install" 2010-03-18
By C. Cook (Oklahoma)
After researching car seats & reading reviews here, I purchased my Cocorro in the strawberry shake color for my 1 yr. old to replace her Graco Snugride. Although I don't have a compact car, my 3 girls were pretty cramped in my '94 Bonneville w/ my 4 yr. old in a convertable car seat & my petite 9 yr. old using a booster.I was impressed that the Cocorro was lite but sturdy & I LOVE the color! The installation I DID NOT love! After reading the instructions MANY times, I tried to install it repeatedly & could not get it secure in the rear facing position. My husband wrestled w/ the seat for 30 minutes & it was still not secure. Luckily, there was a Safe Kids car set check event at our local fire station the weekend after the carseat arrived. One of the technicians was familiar w/the seat & said it was a great seat:"safe, well made & not huge". However, she'd never installed the seat in a car as old as mine. It took 4 car seat techs and 3 firemen nearly 45 mins. to get the seat installed--after they almost decided it could not be safely installed in my car!It is secure now, but what a nightmare! I would recommend getting help to install the seat from the gitgo to avoid the stress. My opinion:a nice, lightweight, sturdy car seat that is a tough install, but worth purchasing.
