I've had this seat for over 2 years, since my daughter outgrew her Roundabout at age 3. I wanted to keep her in a 5 point harness with side-impact protection. I was hoping this seat would be more portable than our other seat (Britax Regent). I love the fabric of the Sahara--going well with a beige interior. I haven't had any dirt issues. I haven't even washed it yet. The straps seem to twist easier in the Frontier. I am not yet comfortable using it with the lap/shoulder belt yet, but may try soon as my daughter is getting tired of the harness. We have a Regent in my husband's car and she doesn't seem to mind the 5 point harness in that carseat. Unfortunatly, I do not find this seat portable. I did have to buy an inexpensive more portable booster for paydates and such as the Frontier can take some time install, latch, tether, get snug, etc.

We have two frontier car seats, and yes, I'll likely buy two more - they are indeed nice car seats, and we like them. But the car seat cover material is something else. Who in their right mind would provide anything this lightweight and "undurable" for a child's car seat? These covers look decent for about 6 months max, and after that, for us at least, they are a discolored, stained, pilled, snagged, and fuzzy, worn down mess. I've really seen nothing like it, and the best I can compare it is imagining what a fine polyester shirt might look like if you sanded it with 60 grit sand paper for an hour.

It is to my great disgust that I'll probably be buying replacement covers (yes indeed, this very one listed here). I'm convinced the Frontier is one of the safest and easiest to use seats for us, with a tremendous age and weight range. But I have to question my sanity when thinking about purchasing replacement covers on a yearly basis. BTW, I hear Britax has one cover that is not like this, but I do not see it listed anywhere - wish you would get more of these out in distribution Britax!
