"Cheaply made with some desing problems" 2010-06-20
By MattD (Texas)
Since it seemed to be impossible to find a European style bassinet /stroller in the US for a reasonable price we did a lot of research to find an appropriate substitute. We also looked at as many strollers as we could in stores to try out their features first hand. In the end we decided to buy the Eddie Bauer Adventurer Travel System. We have been using it for a little over two months now and feel confident about writing this review.

PROS (which made us buy the stroller):

- convenient travel system with car seat and stroller combination

- stroller is fully reclinable from a laying to an upright position, great for infants

- car seat base was easy to install and the car seat snaps easily onto it

- with the car seat on the stroller, the canopies from the stroller and car seat meet to nearly fully cover the baby.

- plenty of cup-holders and storage

- stears nicely

- one handed folding system is very nice

- there is a flap that flips up and secures to create a bassinet style system to safely hold an infant

- the rear wheel brake/lock system is easy to use and very efficient.

- the bar for the car seat is easily removed for bassinet usage.

- car seat snaps onto stroller easily and securely

- system was easy to assemble

- car seat size is not too bad if installing in smaller cars

Cons (why we would not recommend this system)

- the supporting plastic piece in the bottom storage area snapped in half shortly after purchase from holding an average diaper bag

- overall quality is not what we expected

- canopies are fairly flimsy

- the stroller is not very stable and wobbles very easily

- when using the stroller as a bassinet, the straps and buckles get in the way

- wheels do not work too well on anything but a paved surface

- cannot setup the stroller for the baby facing the parent

- material does not breathe at all, baby sweats in even light heat

- price is too much for the quality of this stroller

- the system for reclining the back of the stroller is not easily accessible

- car seat base is not very secure with seat belt

- the strap between the legs does not adjust

- the bucking system on the car seat is very difficult to work with

- baby is pretty uncomfortable in the car seat even at only two months old

- stroller is pretty heavy and is not easily managed or stored when folded

After a little over two months of using this stroller/travel system, we ended up buying a new car seat and stroller. We bought a First Years Tru Fit car seat and Wave Stroller. We will keep this system as an emergency back-up but do not plan on using it as a primary any longer. My wife has had a very hard time with the car seat. Not only is the car seat fairly heavy and bulky, the buckling system on it is very difficult. The tabs need to be perfectly aligned to fit into the buckle and the buckle has a very tight securing system. It takes quite a bit of force to unbuckle the straps and if you have long nails working this buckle system is nearly impossible, especially if you want to save your nails. Overall, we feel we paid too much for the stroller and it no longer fits our needs. If we could do things over, we would not have bought it but would have purchased either a separate car seat and stroller or a completely different travel system.

"Love it, Love it, Love it!" 2009-12-27
By Ms. C (Virginia)
We haven't had our baby yet, he's due in less than two weeks. My mother bought this for us after spending months of looking for the 'right' stroller for us. I wanted something blue and boyish but not cheesy looking. I love this stroller and car seat! The color scheme is fantastic and it should hold up well to any stains that may occur. I chose this ultimately over the Graco product I had picked out because it was a little taller and wider and I love the black as opposed to a brown. I do worry about the padding the handle is made of for pushing, appears as though it could be easy to damage which would be very disappointing. I was also much softer than a lot of the other brands we tested out. We also like that the carseat has an extra bar attachment to keep it secure on the stroller during the infant months. Also very easy to put together, my 15 year old daughter did it in less than 30 minutes!

We look forward to using this stroller with our precious, long awaited baby boy and would definitely recommend using this product. The only thing I wish it also came with was an extra car seat base! If you look in the instruction manual though, one can be ordered from the company for a good price! Gave a four star only because we haven't actually used it yet.

"Love it! Very Worth the $$$$ Owned it for 2 1/2 yrs" 2009-09-18
By R. Churchill (somewherein, FL)
This was a fantastic stroller, we have it in a different color but the same one. My husband was very skeptical at first b/c it looked "big". But he loves this stroller now! We used it through 6 Disney vacations and our daughter is now 2 1/2 (we now have 2 daughters so we have a double stroller, now I would recommend the baby trend DOUBLE sit & stand! (double b/c it can convert to the single, a little tip well worth the extra $$$ for the double!!! But he still loves to use this stroller when he takes one of them.

It "drives" like a dream, smooth, easy to steer, handle and the girls love it too! We have used it so much we're going to have to get new tires for it soon, we've worn the tread down so much!

My husband power-walks and jogs in the evening, we've never had a "jogging stroller" he uses this one and LOVES it!

It's one handed collapes feature is the easiest one we've had yet! (We have 3 stroller all different brands this one works the best of all the other brands).

Also it easily folds small enought to fit into my very small audi A4 sedan trunk!

We really loved the snap and go feature of the carseat too! We used it with both our daughters until they were big enough for their convertible forward facing seats.

When I read the reveiws I initially agreed that this carseat straps were tight around baby's legs when they grew a little. I just recently discovered that the whole in-between-the-legs-strap, can be physically removed and put in the next "hole" up which gives baby a whole lot more leg room! I was shocked and we laughed b/c we discovered this after we transfered our youngest to her convertible seat! :) The over-the-shoulder-straps can be loosened adequately as well. It is a little wobbly in the carseat base, but we found it fine. We had a small towel under ours to protect the leather seats.
