I've read some of the negative reviews, and I honestly can't say a bad thing about this seat. The only suggestion I offer is that this should NOT be your child's first potty seat if you are training at 12 -18 months. By 2 -2 1/2 this is perfect. It is very stable, and soft, and the stepping stand works well. There is no need to wash out the other potty seats, and your child will feel really grown up! It can't hurt to have this seat along with the more traditional on the floor potty. Try different things - your child will naturally go to what he/she prefers. If you are patient and reward your child you will eventually have a child who is confident to use the potty! If your child has fears about going - try having them sit on this with a loose diaper, then remove it while they're going, and give great rewards!!! The advantage of this seat is eventually you can just have a step stool, with a removable soft potty seat or nothing at all if your child is confident sitting on the regular seat. Children love this seat more than the other removable soft seats is it's VERY STABLE, children love resting their feet on the step part, and they get to hold onto the handles while they "go." It's a GREAT design!!!!!!!!

This is a great concept for potty training. My son is too big for a potty seat. The toilet rings were too wobbly and the opening was too small for my large son 45 lbs. + Assembly is super easy. No tools required. My son feels safe having the built in step. The seat itself is sturdy but the ladder and step is not very sturdy. Obviously you dont leave your child unattended and must be careful when he climbs up the step. I think for $25 it was worth every penny.

I bought this for my daughter to use @ home. It works great, she can climb up and down easily. Makes potty training easier.

I was worried that my petite daughter (just turned 2 a couple days ago, very short and weighs 20 lbs) might not be able to use this but she has no issues with it. I needed something for our toilet since she refused to go on the little potty we bought her. Daycare has miniture 'big' potties which she can easily use with a stool but ours is still too tall for her. She would throw a fit when we would try to lift her up to it "I DO IT!!" so this is exactly what we needed.
The seat is on a hinge almost and when you take it off the toilet it falls back to the step part allowing it to 'fold' flat. When my daughter first used it I made sure to hold the ladder still so it wouldn't scare her (thus her not wanting to use it) if it moved. She turns around on the step and then sits and scoots back on the seat with little effort. While sitting on the seat she can put her hands on top of the handles to brace herself for #2 and yes, even lift up the ladder but she thinks that part is funny and it keeps her on the potty longer (it's always an event that she doesn't like to rush) without being dangerous at all.
Our neighbors have a 2/12 year old and are tired of cleaning out the little potty they have for her all the time so I let them borrow ours for a bit to see if they liked it and she's now ordering one. I've recommended it to several people. We're military living overseas in Germany and it fits the toilets out here just fine, if that helps anyone.

I thought this product was a great idea but it doesn't work. First the step up part is unstable and though I don't think it will collaps, my son didn't like that it moved so he was afraid to use it. Once up on the seat--- for a boy not good because he would pee straight going right up and out of the seat. While up there, holding on to the blue handles did not work because they too would wiggle making him afraid of sitting up on the seat.
don't waste your money.
