My baby isn't here yet but I have tried it with my niece and she seems very happy with it. Good price, easy way to keep baby entertained. I wish it had lights though, too dark at night and doesn't help to much then, but overall a good purchase.

Our son loved this toy even if he was only 2 months old when we got it. The music is great & catchy. However, it leaks :-( We are so disappointed that water was suddenly slowly dripping out of our infant's toy.

I think this toy is fabulous! I got it second hand from my sister-in-law and had to buy another one when my son dropped it in the bathtub. I don't think that it is meant to be used as a distraction in the car since you're not supposed to drive around with the bar raised (think about what might happen in a rollover--AHH), but it worked great when he was in his seat, but not in the car. Also, now that he has grown out of his infant carrier he still carries it around with him-it is one of his favorite toys. He didn't have a hard time with the button, but he liked it enough to figure it out--it took awhile. We attached it to all sorts of things from his crib, to his jumperoo, to his rocking chair--anything that we could put at least one loop around so it didn't get away from him if he dropped it. Now I find myself replacing the old one and the price is well worth it to me because I know he loves it.

I have this attached to my daughter's car seat. We have a Chicco travel system and it does fit the handle ok and slides up and out of the way for entry/exit. Other than the expectation at the characters in the fluid window would move more than they actually do, I have two problems with it: 1) Eats batteries like crazy - and it takes THREE watch batteries that I had to order for it, because I couldn't find locally (I've stocked up), and 2) most aggrivating, the music only plays for less than 15 seconds and the button has to be pressed almost continually for music to keep playing. My 6mo old can't press it herself yet and I'm not a contortionist to be able to do it while driving. Overall a cute idea but needs a couple of fixes.

Wow - when we registered for this item, I never imagined my son would enjoy it so much! As a premie, it took him until he was about 2 months old to really enjoy this. Before that, he was a little overwhelmed. We did not turn on the musical sea attachment at first because we were a little worried about overstimulation. After a few enjoyable "sessions" (about 5-10 minutes at a time), we attached the musical sea attachment and placed it on the "movement" setting. Our son has to activate the music by grabbing and pulling on one of the hanging toys or kick the sea attachment directly. He LOVED it and it really helps with cause and effect. Now, at 5 months old, he still really enjoys his limited "alone time" playing with this playmat. We have slowly introduced different ones of the hanging toys and it's nice because the Einstein holders will accomodate other toys hanging from the playmat as well. This has become of the most used items we have in the house! Nice job Baby Einstein!

This is a great mat for my 4.5 month-old. Keeps him entertained and moving. Like to grab at the brightly colored toys. Good mix of soft items, rattles and teethers. The music toy is good, but looks a bit enhanced online. It plays music and has color lights that flash. Online it appears the toy background changes or moves but it doesn't. The mat is very colorful which baby likes. The graphics are realistic sea-creatures. A great item. Buys time for coffee and paper in the morning.

My son loves this gym. He squeals and chatters away while playing on it. It has been a lifesaver for me due to Jack being such a high need baby (Needs to be held most of the time, and more fussy than not). He has spent over 45 minutes playing on this mat!!! The music is really fun, and the lights are a nice touch. Jack has been using this from about 2 months of age on, and loves to grab and shake the rattle (which is not cloudy on my mat) and will grab and shake the other toys at the same time. It is so much fun to hear him having such a good time : )

We received this mat as a gift for our 2 month old and it's definitely been the toy that's captivated him the most thus far.



Pros: He really likes the mirror and it is easy to position the dangling toys so that he can hit and kick them, which causes him (and us) endless amusement :) The mat feels nice and there is a lot to entertain him.



Cons: I laundered the mat per instructions after our son was sick on it. It cleaned up fine, but came out of the washer covered in what looks like tiny pieces of tissue, which could possibly be a choking hazard. I've only had to wash it once so far, so I don't know if that happens every time, but it was a pain to clean it up before leaving it to dry. Also, the electronic toy is not my favourite - the flashing lights are fast and erratic and after getting down to my son's level and looking at it from the same distance as he was, I ended up switching it off because it just seemed like way too much stimulation; there was no pattern to the lights and they were sooo much faster than the music it just didn't seem like a good idea to have that happening 6' from my sons eyes.



So in conclusion, using it without the electronic toy, it's a great product. Lots to see and play with and most importantly, my son likes it. As a gift, I'm happy with it. If we'd paid $[...] for it, I'd probably return it and get a mat with a different lights/sound component.
