 "Don't buy this!" 2010-07-02
By Thoughtfox (Merced, CA United States)
This thing doesn't work. Period. The front part goes up, like a duck's bill, thus defeating the purpose of the product: to block the sun from hitting your baby. It's big and bulky, too. Total waste of money.

 "Still Sunny :(" 2009-11-04
By B. Kohler
This product doesn't really work. The sun has to be in just the right spot to work. It also blocks your child from looking outside. It is very soft and ends up on top of your child's head. It is expensive and not worth it. Save your $.

 "Poor sun coverage" 2009-02-22
By Anne Swoboda (Evanston, IL)
After searching for days for a product to protect my little guy's eyes from the sun while in his rear-facing toddler seat, I settled on this sunshade. It is not worth the money. Once installed, it is difficult to get the child in and out of the car seat. Further, it does very little to actually keep the sun out of their eyes, as the canopy arcs up, like a duck bill, allowing sun to come in underneath. Disappointing product. Ours was returned.

"Keeps the sun out of baby's eyes" 2008-08-12
By V. Briggs (Miami, FL USA)
This shade doesn't fit very well on our car seat or stroller, but it gets the job done. My husband hates it and thinks it is an eye sore, but I use it often to keep the sun off the little one. Wish is wasn't black - gets HOT in Miami.

"LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS STROLLER!!!!!" 2010-04-09
By L. Byrd (Gainesville, FL)
Great stroller and well worth the money. At our recent trip to Disney we literally looked around and realized how superior our stroller was to most of the ones we saw. It really is super light-weight, folds well, the color conceals any dirt, easily wiped clean, the basket is super convenient, the cup holder is of course a plus, and the padded seat worked well enough to keep a 12 month old happy all day in a park! Living in Florida, the sun sheild was a HUGE selling point for us, and the fact that it reclines allowed our daughter to nap when she got too tired without having to go back and forth to our hotel. GREAT prodcut- would suggest this to anyone looking for a smaller stroller.

 "Get the 2010 model!" 2010-03-27
By Lalagirl (@the beach in Southern California)
We have a Vista stroller (also by Uppababy) so maybe we're biased, but we really like this stroller. Our purchase came out of necessity as we were going on our first road trip with our 9mo baby. As we were planning what to pack, my husband came to the realization that it might be a tight fit for the Vista and all the other stuff we needed for us and the baby in our car. 3 days before the trip he said to me, "maybe we need one of those umbrella strollers." Couldn't believe he thought of it first, but I immediately started to research strollers. Since we were going to a sunny beach area I knew we needed a stroller with a great sunshade. I also wanted one that reclined. It came down to the g-luxe and the maclaren triumph. I really liked the fact that the g-luxe had such a huge sunshade and I liked the look of it as well. Also, the maclaren recall made me a little nervous. My husband went to our local baby store (where we got our Vista) and picked up a g-luxe, but it was a 2009 model without the deeper seat and larger sunshade. I had him take it back. I called around and found a retailer near our destination that had the 2010 model, so we picked it up when we got there before going to the hotel. The stroller is nice and light, easy to fold/unfold and quite sturdy. The sunshade was great as it was very sunny, and it even helped with keeping the full force of the wind off my baby. I had no problems pushing the stroller one-handed. The height is also good for me (I'm 5'6") and my husband (6'4"), though he says it's basically at the limit of what is comfortable for him (any shorter and he'd be in trouble). The stroller rolls nicely over varied surfaces - great on paved sidewalks and non-plush carpets, less so on grass or highly textured carpets. Storage is fine, though not that spacious. I augmented the storage by putting my purse (2nd diaper bag) over the handles. The stroller did not tip back with the extra weight (probably about 5-6lbs.).

We have no complaints at this point and feel we gave the stroller a pretty good workout over the 4 days we had it on the trip and since. I only wish we could've waited for the blue one (Harrison). Since we needed it right away we had to go with the black (the color the store had).

"Light, Compact, and not too short" 2010-01-17
By Kevin M. Carson (Banbury, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom)
We bought this stroller off the back of a good review from Consumer Reports. We wanted something that was lightweight but not a silly, small umbrella stroller. I'm 5' 10" and my wife is 5' 7" and we both love the height of the handles. We looked at some other ultra lightweight strollers and the handles were always too low.

We've had it for a month now and have not been disappointed. It does fold down quite small and is very easy to sling over your shoulder and carry up or down stairs. It also stands up when it is folded, but the folding process involves folding it down to the floor and then standing it back up again. It is very robust as we've been using it on snowy and icy pavements and it has been fine. The sun shade is quite good as well. It clicks down so you can block even sun coming in from the horizon.

Overall we are very happy with it, but I've docked it a star because of the recline function. I bought this one over the G-lite because I wanted to be able to recline the seat back so our son could sleep. It is a 50 dollar function, so I thought it would be a bit better. Reclining it is not a problem, you just pull a little tab attached to a couple of strings and it goes straight down. The problem comes when you need to put your child back upright again while they are still strapped into the chair. You need two hands to do it, one to pull the strings and one to hold the little tab. This leaves no hands to push the weight of the child back into the upright position. So we have to use our forearm to push our son forward and then use our hands to secure it in place. We like the ability to lie our son down, but for 50 bucks I was hoping for something better than a couple of strings and a retaining tab.

One thing to note. This is a very lightweight stroller. If you hang an even moderately heavy diaper bag on it without a child sitting in it, it will tip over backwards. When you go to the playground, you can sometimes get away with backing it against a tree or fence, but it is probably better to take the bag off, THEN take your child out. There is absolutely NO danger of tipping when the child is in it, but we've forgotten how light it is a few times and took our son out and the stroller went straight over backwards as soon as his weight was off it.

 "Excellent stroller" 2010-01-15
By Nicole Shepter (CT)
We flew with our 8-month-old yesterday for the first time and today I am even more a fan of UppaBaby, if that's possible. We have the Vista, which is awesome, but bulky - no way I'd gate check that thing. Enter the G-luxe. Light, so maneuverable, easy to use. The sunshade is awesome. Folding it one-handed is a breeze. Unfolding it one-handed is also a breeze. So glad I chose this instead of the Maclaren, especially as the week after I bought it all those strollers were recalled for amputating fingers. Plus I bought this off E-bay for a bit of a discount. In retrospect I wouldn't have minded spending 160 for this bad boy.

I felt sorry for all the people traveling with kids who didn't have an UppaBaby. They were struggling to make their baby gear work, while we seamlessly moved from the plane to the car. Also, the fact that there is a carry strap and it stands up by itself is an excellent feature.

I'm 5'9'' and my husband is just under 6 feet and this is a comfortable height for both of us. The only two slightly negative things I can say: one side of the shade keeps popping off. Not a big deal. Also, I know that this brand is made for taller people with a long stride, but I do have to say - my feet do hit the wheels while I'm walking. The reason is that the double wheels are a bit wide, not because they're too low. I can only imagine how bad this problem would be with another stroller that isn't made for those with a long stride.

"Broke the second time we used it." 2009-12-07
By Kimberly Webb (Alexandria, VA)
I did a lot of research and after seeing the good mention in the Baby Bargains book we got this stroller for our 11 month old. It was easy to setup, just pop on the wheels and cup holder. The recline is very simple to use, it's basically just a drawstring and pulley system. I didn't love the way it folded up, you have to push in metal tabs with your thumbs - it always hurt when I did it. Our daughter loved the oversized sun shade and when it was real windy we just put it in front of her and it blocked her whole body. The second time we used it the buckle would not come apart. We had to take off her pants to get her out of the stroller. Even with her out the buckle still won't disengage. I had to send it back and can't risk getting another one. My mom (her nanny) thought the first time we used it that the buckle was too hard for her arthritic fingers to push to unlatch.

 "Great chair!" 2010-03-04
By A. Kolovich
I absolutely love this chair! It is sturdy, folds flat, and is easy to clean! My daughter fits much more comfortably in this chair than most restuarant high chairs which are often broken or filthy. We also use it frequently when we travel - it is small enough to take almost anywhere. Only twice have we not been able to use it, due to an unusual or thick table (ex: the tables at a Janpanse steakhouse that have the grills built in). We get so many questions/compliments on this chair when we are out in public that I feel like a sales rep for Phil and Teds! It makes a great baby gift (one that will get a lot of use!) - even for people who already have older children and missed this the first time around.

 "Portable, convenient and stable." 2010-01-31
By PMK (Albuquerque, NM)
I got this high chair when we rented a vacation home that was not equipped with baby stuff. I was able to attach it to the round kitchen table and it still was very stable. This chair is collapsible and fits easily in a diaper bag so I have it with me when I go somewhere where I know there will not be a high chair. We have a full sized high chair in our house. If this would have attached to our kitchen table, I would get rid of the high chair but our table has the "skirt" so I couldn't attach the high chair. The only drawback is that even at the shortest length, the straps would slide off our tiny daughter. She is squirmy so we just had to make sure to supervise her. Now that she has grown, the straps fit her better.

 "so far so good!!" 2010-01-20
By J. Campbell (UAE)
I bought this on sale at Mothercare (Dubai Mall) around 3 months ago when my son was 4 months old, as I have other P&T products. I am just back from a 2 night break and got fantastic use from it. We took it to restaurants, attached it to the breakfast bar at our villa and our 7 month old LOVED it.

Pro's - it brings our son right up close to the table, so he's included in our meal

- its easily cleaned with an anti-bacterial wipe

- If you adjust the straps correctly before fitting your baby, they stay on just fine!!

- We folded a hand towel and placed it behind our baby they first time we used the chair (to support his back), but it wasn't necessary at all

- It feels very secure, but I always worry, so slid a regular dining chair under him - it helped with space too - not having a spare chair next to the table

Con's - Our tables at home, except my office desk, have lips under them, so the MeToo doesn't work at our family meal times.

- Scratches, or more so, indentations. I tighten the clamp sooo tightly, I have a slight indentation mark on my desk now (woops) - maybe its a good thing it won't fit on my dining table

I would recommend this highly. I will post any faults or problems if or when they occur.

 "Wonderful Travel Highchair" 2010-01-14
By Lindsey Joyce Veverka (Missouri)
We use this chair when we travel to grandparent's homes, out to dinner, on family vacations or as an extra highchair on hand when we have other kids visit. It is lightweight and small enough to fit into our luggage and convenient to use. I have been using this highchair for 6 months now and have only found one table that was not compatable with the chair. In addition we have found an easy and effective way of cleaning the chair: the dishwasher! We throw it in the dishwasher (either bottom or top rack) and run a cycle with the rest of our dishes. It comes out spotless but it is a little wet. Then we hang it to dry with a fan blowing on it and it usually dries overnight. Really an excellent purchase for our purposes!

"Great, although doesn't work with all tables" 2009-11-28
By M. Thompson (San Jose, CA United States)
This seat is very convenient and great for travel. It's lightweight and easy to carry with you and pack in your suitcase. My son has used it from the time he was 15 months old and loves the fact that he's sitting at the table with the adults instead of in his high chair. It's adjustable to many tables, but doesn't fit all of them. We've found some tables to be too thick. Also, my toddler thinks it's very funny to swing/jump in his which can shake the whole table. He has spilled over friend's drinks when shaking the table too much. You definitely need a sturdy table if you've got a mischievious and active toddler like mine.
