This bag worked wonderfully for the flight to our destination. However, on the flight home, the wheel bracket broke. It can no longer be wheeled on the ground and must be carried. I filed a claim with the airline who replied they will not cover the bag because the wheels protrude from the rest of the bag. The JL Childress website says they will not cover damage caused by airlines. So, $40 for 2 flights. It was great while it lasted, but expensive for a poor quality design.

I liked the sturdy bottom of this travel bag. it fit our britax marathon fine (required a bit of manuevering). However, I was disappointed that the strap broke on the return trip of our first use. For the price we paid, I would have expected the strap to last for multiple trips.

If you are looking for a low cost solution to protect your expensive car seat, this travel bag is perfect. With the rising cost of checked baggage there is plenty of room to put more than just the car seat inside the travel bag, and as a "special item" it generally is checked for free.

We purchased this bag ahead of a trip home for Thanksgiving. Previously we had borrowed a bag for our car seat (it having not occurred to us previously that the car seat would be yet another fun item to travel with with the addition to our family). We thought this bag was much better. It seems durable and the wheels are a big plus when you're dragging all the "family luggage" through the airport. A "tugging handle" might be nice (but also could make it less "collapsable", for easy storage, which it now is and is a plus).

We bought a stroller bag and a car seat bag for our baby's first flights. They kept the stroller & car seat clean and easy to find. Not the most durable material, but better than nothing and fine for gate checking.



FYI, our stroller (a Baby Jogger City Mini) didn't fit in the stroller bag. But it did fit in the car seat bag, and our car seat (a Graco SnugRide 32) fit in the stroller bag -- so we just switched them, and it worked out fine.

Having read the warnings here about durability, my intent for this bag was to have something to throw the car seat into just prior to gate check to keep the car seat clean while it was stowed below. Even with the (relatively) easy handling, ours had a large hole ripped into it after only 2 trips (actually on the outbound segment of our 2nd trip). Unfortunately, something like this item, designed specifically for travel, should have the durability to last at least several trips (a dozen or so too much to ask?).



I would NOT recommend this bag. Not even for gate checking purposes only.

The idea of this is great! Makes the carseat easy to spot, and kept it clean! We checked it at the gate, and it had holes after only the first flight! After two flights, it has over five tears in the fabric, and won't likely last for any future travel! The fabric itself is cheap! I just wish the fabric were more heavy duty! I love the idea of this, and wish had held up better! I'd even pay a little more for better fabric! Great idea, just don't expect it to last you more than one trip!

Bought this for Britax Marathon. It fit perfectly, however once we arrived to our destination it had a small hole in the fabric. By the time we returned home, the hole was a little bigger and had two more holes. But for [...] bucks...what do you expect. It probably would be fine if used for gate check not baggage check in.

I purchased the "backpack" version of this bag after reading the reviews that the wheels on the rolling version broke easily. After using it for the first time, I somewhat wished I'd gone with the rolling one.



This bag is sturdy with quality fabric and a surprisingly good amount of padding. We used it with a Graco Snugride on one trip, and it left room to pack a whole other bag inside. It will clearly fit a larger, full-size car seat. We felt confident gate-checking the car seat being it was so well protected.



This bag is HUGE and awkward to carry through an airport. You have to constantly be making sure you aren't whacking someone with it as you turn, and you kind of have to wonder how silly you look. You also can't fit the car seat through the x-ray machine in it - at least not in the airports we were in.

We have a Britax Boulevard purchased new in late 2009 and it JUST fits into this bag. As hoped for, the bag kept the seat clean and reasonably protected from the usual baggage handling when flying. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the zipper seam on one of the upper corners is already starting to pull apart after one round trip set of flights (5 legs). I actually expected this before purchasing since I read this happened to someone else, and the fact that the zipper is literally at the corner/edge... and the edges and corners are what take the most force/damage from handling. Make sure you DON'T leave the zipper handles on the corners!



For me, though, this is still worth the cost over a $5 airline charge each way for a clear plastic bag for the seat (if your airline of choice even sells them). I would buy another one without really thinking twice about it.

My husband was embarassed to use it when we first arrived at the airport, but he admitted it was necessary since we were pushing a stroller and carrying two diaper bags. We gate checked the car seat travel bag to ensure the car seat would arrive with us at our destination. The bag survived without any damage.
