Ugh where do I start... I try to keep an open mind when writing reviews. However this product erks me to no end. As with most things you get what you pay for..
1) The chest clip is just plastic interlocking pieces that just don't feel safe/sturdy.
2) The straps feel perpetually twisted even when they aren't. They don't feel tight even when you have pulled and pulled. It sometimes takes me about 5 minutes to get my daughters straps just situated. Even more annoying, One strap tightens the other doesn't.

This was just the car seat I needed for my little convertible car. We have it rear facing (and will keep it that way until she reaches the maximum requirements). She loves sitting up so high and looking outside. It is located behind the passenger seat. There is still room for an average sized person to ride in the passenger seat. With her infant seat, the passenger seat had to be pushed so far forward that no one could sit there comfortably. It is light weight, easy to install, and adjust for my tall 11 month old. I have 2 complaints: I can't figure out how to move up the little flat pillow that came with it and there are no directions on Evenflo's website or in the owner's manual- must be for the little babies. And I need to buy some shoulder pads so the straps don't cut into her neck. But to me, those are no big deal. Wonderful seat, wish I would have bought it sooner.

This car seat is great. It's a nice color and easy to use. It has 4 different slots to adjust the straps as my son grows. It faces both forward and backwards. The cover comes off so you can wash it. I had a Graco infant travel system car seat that I used for the first 4 months before I got this car seat. I hated using it. I got this and my son loves it a lot more. There's more room for him. I definitely recommend this car seat especially for the price.

This carseat is rated to 50 pounds and 47 inches. My 3 year old daughter is about 38 pounds and 42 inches, well below the allowances. When using a forward facing carseat, the straps should be in the harness slots directly above the child's shoulders, but on this carseat, the highest slots were about an inch below her shoulders.
Next, I tried using it on my 19 month old, in a rear-facing position. For this the straps must be fitted through the slots below the child's shoulders. She's about 33 inches tall and 23 pounds, so the second slots from the bottom were the ones I had to use. They were about 3 inches below which made getting them over her arms difficult without having to loosen them and then retighten them. Also, the straps became twisted frequently.
BTW, I talked to Evenflo, and if your child is rear-facing the straps should ALWAYS be BELOW your child's shoulders, even if the one above is much closer. The reason is that if you are in an accident, the baby's body will be forced up. If the straps are below, they prevent this movement that could injury your baby.

I had to purchase this seat when my son was only 4 months old because he already outgrew is infant carseat! I LOVE this Evenflo seat! My son loves it because he sits up higher and its easier for him to look out the window. He is still rear facing and would get frustrated in his other carseat because the car seat was so low and the windows in our SUV were too high for him to really see anything. I also think that strap adjuster button in the front is awesome! Would highly recommend this seat!
