I bought this seat for my second child. He was 9lbs at birth, and at two months is now almost 14lbs. Needless to say I've had to adjust the straps often. Well that is easier said than done. The strap adjustment on the car seat is so difficult that my husband and I together cannot make them move. I would not recommend this seat to anyone, and if I could justify the expense I would buy a new seat.

Evenflo is the only car seat brand that will fit a premature infant properly. Our son was 10 weeks premature, weighing 4 pounds when we brought him home. We originally had a Graco car seat but the NICU would not allow us to take the baby home in it, as the harness straps were too high. We bought the Evenflo car seat because it was the only one available with shoulder straps short enough to properlly fit a tiny infant. It was installed by nurses certified in car seat safety. When strapped in with hook anchors and the seat base, the seat should not wiggle more than 1 inch in any direction.
"Rear facing car seats are meant to allow some rocking movement at the head end of the car seat. In a crash, this movement will help cradle your child and protect him." [...]
The car seat alone is very light and the handle design makes it much easier to carry without it banging on the back of the knee. However, it is considerably longer/taller than the Graco seat we had making it impossible for anyone to sit in the front passenger seat (we had to push the seat and tip the seat-back all the way forward leaving no room in the seat for anyone). We used it until our son was tall enough to fit into the Graco seat and it served its purpose very well, if only it were shorter.

Bought this for my 2 newest grandchildren (1 boy and 1 girl) and the pattern is perfect for either one. Very easy to use and I got it at a great price.

A lot of people keep saying how great the car seat is for the price & this is just not true. It doesn't end up being more economical when you get stuck replacing it because its not designed properly. We tried using this car seat in several cars & it never fit correctly. An infant car seat is suppose to cradle your baby & my poor son was almost upright in this car seat- to the point that someone had to always set in the back to hold his head up & this is with the infant support headrest bought separately. The car seat was also difficult to install in numerous cars, and it doesn't snap into the base very well. I learned my lesson with this car seat, and let me tell you car seats are not something you want to go cheap on. We figured that this car seat would be fine because we lived in San Francisco & mainly took the bus, well it wasn't. My nephew used the chicco cortina car seat & loved it, and I'd recommend the britax marathon my son's car seat for when their older.

I've been using this car seat for about one month. The canopy is really junky and useless. It often falls behind the back of the car seat. It seems like it should have a hard rib at the base of the canopy to keep this part from buckling. I find it very difficult, even after one month, to fit the car seat into its base. It has to be at an exact angle for it to fit into the base. When you finally get the right angle, it makes a very loud click sound that will startle, if not wake up, a sleeping infant. The straps are very difficult to adjust. I wish there were a way to adjust them from the front or side of the seat. You have to adjust the straps when the car seat is not in its base. You have to push in a tab at the back and pull a strap to tighten or loosen it. It's a lot of work and it's difficult to get the straps to budge. Other than that, my infant likes to sit in the car seat.
Infant car seats have a such short lifespan (you can only use it until the baby outgrows it, which doesn't take very long), so I don't know that I would have spent more money for a better car seat.
